World's Largest Xbox Console Gaming Community Launches Professional Competition Service for Teams, League Play and Tournaments

Houston, TX August 4, 2004 -- Team Compete, LLC today announced the launch of the Team Compete Professional LeagueTM (TCPL) designed exclusively for Microsoft Xbox Live enabled console gaming TEAM competition. Team CompeteTM has assembled over 125,000 Xbox Live gamers and organized them into over 30,000 teams competing in 26 Live enabled Xbox games…..making them the largest Xbox Live competition site on the planet! The TCPL is offered as a subscription service creating a "private community" of the most serious and dedicated gamers playing on the Xbox Live network currently. The TCPL has been built to mirror most every aspect of professional sports teams in an online fashion. Building TEAMS and competing as TEAMS in structured LEAGUES is at the core of the TCPL product. Registrations and team building begin immediately with the first league competitions beginning early September once the teams are formed, and leagues are populated. The current Team Compete "Open League" system will remain, as it has been since launch, as a free service to all Xbox Live players.

The Pro League will feature LEAGUES of varying sizes (from a minimum of 8 teams to multiple divisions of 16 or 32 teams each) playing competitively in 7 games initially. As new Xbox Live enabled games launch they will be supported as well. (Ghost Recon2, Black Hawk Down, Splinter Cell3 and Halo2 are all on the Q3/Q4 radar). Games in the initial launch package will include:

*Rainbow Six3

*Black Arrow

*Ghost Recon and GRIT

*Splinter Cell

*Counter Strike

*Crimson Skies

* Halo2

"The TCPL has been in development for over 18 months and has been written specifically to meet the needs of team play on the Microsoft Xbox Live system that serves over 1,000,000 members currently. Team Compete has built upon the best practices learned over the past year from their 125,000 member users and incorporated them into a completely redesigned software application unlike any other competition or ladder site available elsewhere" according to the Veeg, founder and designer of the Team Compete™ service.

The TCPL features several proprietary and patent pending advances in gaming community operations and game competition play with some of the most compelling new features being:

* Multiple Levels of League Play with teams slotted into levels based on their skills and previous finishes in Pro League seasons. Teams are seeded against other teams with similar, proven abilities.

* Individual Player Ratings based on feedback from opponents and team captains and weighted by the amount of games played in the season.

* Player Cards (similar to baseball cards) where the individual statistics are generated and updated for use as a signature within the Pro League and other external forum sites (personal marketing).

* Rolling Start Dates allowing teams to be created and start in a league without having to wait till all other teams finish a season already in progress.

* Extensive Team Management tools to allow captains to communicate with and train team members and create strategy and playbook materials.

* Scouting, recruiting and marketing tools to enable players to find teams and teams to find and recruit players.

* Roster Management tools similar to the fantasy football leagues where you have team size limitations and active roster slot limitations for each game.

* Dispute adjudication and management to include video and audio monitoring of matches.

* Video broadcast of key matches throughout the season.

Comprehensive Scheduling features such that all games are played within a known band of time (such as 6-9PM Tuesdays and Thursdays) and 50% of your matches will be "Home Games" played at your exact play time preference (7:30PM for example). The TCPL Pro League which will list for $49.99 annually will be available for the next month at a reduced rate of $39.99 for an annual subscription. The TCPL complements the robust features that Microsoft and the individual game Publishers are building into their games and the Live network. The TCPL brings new levels of team play, team management and competition not found on any other site or gaming service to the market in advance of the most anticipated game in the past year— Halo2.

First launched in March 2003, Team Compete has remained free and open to all comers. Over 30,000 teams have been created and by using the patent pending Team Compete challenge system they have located opponents and played over 55,000 matches in the 26 games currently supported. League play brings a higher level of structure and organization to the hyper-competitive professional gamers to allow them to truly play against the ‘Best of the Best'. "The market itself has evolved over the past year and this completely new service offering is maturing and expanding to meet the ever increasing demands of the gaming community. We plan to continue raising the bar on competitive team play services for the Xbox Live community and have several additional levels of play and features in development as well," said the Veeg.
